The first-ever Bluegrass & BBQ—a brand-new fall tradition in the making! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and your appetite for an afternoon of foot-stomping bluegrass music and mouthwatering BBQ. This family-friendly event features live performances from Murphy's Bluegrass Bandits and Blue Spruce, plus a variety of local food trucks serving up smoky, delicious BBQ and more. Blue Spruce goes on at 1:20pm and 4:00pm. Admission is free—just pay for what you eat!

An intimate afternoon with Tom Gray, founding member of the legendary bluegrass band The Seldom Scene and a two-time Bluegrass Hall of Fame inductee. This special event weaves together music and storytelling as Tom shares highlights from his remarkable career and his history with the Palisades community. Adding to the experience, Tom will be joined by Blue Spruce, who will perform dynamic traditional, modern, and original bluegrass interludes with their signature harmony and style. A unique show not to be missed—a rare chance to go backstage with Tom Gray, celebrate the enduring spirit of bluegrass, and connect with the history of the Palisades neighborhood. Doors open at 3:30pm. $15 advance tickets / $20 at the door.

The Quarry House is a DMV institution. It's in a basement and is a dive bar with tons of character. They have great burgers, great tots, a great atmosphere, great events like trivia and live music, great beers, and a great happy hour. Service is friendly and straightforward. Everyone should visit at least once. Arrive early to get a good seat and have dinner. No cover!
